4'33" made it to no. 21 in the UK 2010 Christmas Singles chart
 

John Cage famously urged listeners not to blame Zen for his music, even though his experience with Zen buddhism was an influence. Similarly, I don't think we can assume Cage would have supported the Facebook campaign for Christmas UK charts 2010. We can't blame Cage! However, he did say:
'I can't understand why people are frightened of new ideas. I'm frightened by the old ones.' In my view, X-Factor (et al) represent the old ideas.
